Oct 19, 2025 - FASSelangor FC leading the first leg of the 2025/26 FA Cup Quarter Final after defeating Negeri Sembilan FC 4-0 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi yesterday.
The match began with Faisal Halim's opening goal in the 34th minute from a Zach Clough pass. Two minutes into the second half, Azri Ghani's rebound from Alvin Fortes' attempt was successfully scored by Chrigor Moraes. Zach Clough then added to the Red Giants' goal in the 56th minute with a header after a fantastic move involving Faisal Halim and Alvin Fortes. Wearing the green Away jersey that was just launched on 17th October, Faisal Halim scored the final goal of the #NSESFC match in the 63rd minute after receiving a beautiful pass from Kevin Deeromram. This cleansheet victory showed an amazing team performance from the players, which also put Selangor FC in a good position ahead of the return leg.
According to Christophe Gamel, Head Coach of Selangor FC, he was happy with the players' performance and expected the same action in the return leg.
"I'm happy but my focus is more on us not conceding, and the players showed the spirit to prove that we can score goals. I always knew that our attacking side is quite strong. The team's weakness is more on the defensive side, but tonight they showed improvement, and overall the players gave their best performance. I'm also confident that they want to prove that even though we lost the previous match, we won't let that happen again. At the same time, I think their fighting spirit showed that they really wanted to win yesterday," praised Gamel
"In a short time, I've been with them for five matches. Because of that, I have to make a lot of changes. I take full responsibility for every change that is made. So, in the return match, we have to do the same if we want to advance to the semi-finals," Gamel stressed before ending the interview
Next, Selangor FC will fly to Indonesia for the 2025/26 ACLTWO Group G match against Persib Bandung at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium.
The Selangor FC management would like to thank the supporters who came to Paroi to support the team. Without you, the team spirit would not be as strong as it was yesterday.
